VEGETATIVE TEXTILES
Sustainable, authentic, natural, unique materials make the works of artists and designers not only exclusive, but also awaken creative perspectives for the future. This project presents grown textiles combined with personal experiences, stories and memories of growing up. With the help of microorganisms, a collection of personal fabrics was created, inspired by childhood memories and connection with different generations. It was important to reveal the importance and potential of materials, handcraft, skills, different senses. Traditional textile production methods and their artistic interpretations were used during the development of the collection. It was important to discover surfaces that can be made or grown at home and that have the potential for further creative processes.
